Story Makers
Human beings do not simply tell stories—we create stories and we inhabit stories. Stories shape how we understand ourselves and everything around us. Some stories become so deeply embedded in culture that they evolve into mythologies that drive deeper human patterns unfolding across centuries.
But we always hold the possibility of creating and inhabiting new and better stories. Through both my professional work and personal pursuits, I’m driven to nurture and spread stories that center on restoring relationships of respect and reciprocity with the larger world.
Selected Stories
These are a few creative projects I’ve been fortunate to support in their efforts to invite people into deeper relationships with wildlife, landscapes, and one another. Across different mediums, they share a coherent commitment to the power of story:
-
A new cinematic storytelling series exploring humanity's relationship with the living world through thoughtful conversations in immersive landscapes.
-
Conversations with scientists, artists, conservationists, and storytellers exploring what wolves can teach us about ecology, culture, and ourselves.
-
A National Geographic photo exhibition by Ronan Donovan—Exploring the relationship between humans and wolves, and dispelling the misconceptions that drive human-wildlife conflict. On view at the Natural History Museum of LA County September 2024-June 2025.
